Private Psychological Services

Consultation appointments are designed to be psychodiagnostic in nature. Meaning, your presenting issue will be fully explored and conceptualized using the field's most evidence-based theories. A review of clinical findings will be provided. Upon completion of the consultation, a treatment plan will be discussed with you. Consultations for individual therapy and assessments typically last one hour. Those for couples or family therpay generally last for one-and-a-half hours.

Individual psychotherapy allows you the opportunity to gain greater self-awareness and insights into your personal processes. Each session is viewed as a step towards attaining your personal goals. The process is a collaborative one which caters to your individual strengths.

Couples psychotherapy provides both partners a safe environment to express themselves and their wishes. Each member is asked to identify their personal goal for treatment and then a representative goal for the couple is set. Benefits to couples therpay are an increase in communication skills and a greater insight into self and partner.

Family psychotherapy is a great forum to explore challenges in the family system. Each member's role is identified and understood as an integral part of a whole. Effective communication and assertiveness skills are key elements in the treatment of families.

Psychoeducational assessments offered at this practice are intended to comply with the requirements of the Miami Dade and Broward Country school systems for Learning Disability, Giftedness, and Attention Defecit Hyperactivity Disorder. All instruments utilized are empirically-validated. It is expected as part of the assessment that parents and teachers will be consulted for collateral information.
